our philosophy

ABOUT DIARTE

Thoughtful design, premium materials and local craftsmanship, rooted in Spain.

DIARTE creates thoughtfully designed garments that become part of everyday life. Pieces chosen again and again, season after season because they are beautifully made, deeply considered in every detail and easy to live in.

Founded in Madrid in 2010 by Ana Diarte and Jairo Berrocal, DIARTE has always believed that how a garment is made matters as much as how it is designed. All our garments are made in Spain, in close collaboration with small, family-run factories near our Madrid studio. We work with carefully selected European materials, including premium Italian yarns such as Extrafine Merino wool, alongside natural and responsibly sourced fibres.

This way of working has grown through long-standing local relationships, carefully chosen materials and a commitment to more responsible production, including the use of renewable energy. Today, our collections bring together knitwear and everyday pieces made to be worn often, cared for and kept over time.

OUR VALUES

Quality, responsibility and longevity guide the way we work.

Our commitment to responsibility runs through every stage of the process. Sustainability has been part of DIARTE since the beginning. From the materials we choose to where and how we produce, every decision we have made along the way has been guided by the aim of creating more responsibly, with quality, longevity and a lasting connection to what we make.

We create considered collections with a focus on longevity, versatility and everyday wear, rather than chasing trends or overproducing. We want our clothes to be pieces that become part of people's lives, worn often, cared for and kept over time.

Today, all DIARTE garments are made in Spain, with around 80% of our production powered by solar energy. Alongside local production, carefully selected materials and long-standing relationships with our manufacturing partners, these choices reflect a more considered way of making clothes.

OUR ORIGINS

DIARTE’s story began with Ana’s early connection to craftsmanship

Before DIARTE existed, Ana Diarte grew up surrounded by women in her family who embroidered, tailored, knitted and crocheted. From them, she inherited an early appreciation for craftsmanship and the value of things made by hand.

That relationship with making became the foundation of her approach to design. Knitwear, in particular, became a natural language: a way to create texture, structure and silhouette from a single thread, combining creativity with technical precision.

When DIARTE was founded in 2010, this personal heritage became part of the brand. Ana still knits prototypes by hand and works closely with local factories throughout the design process, maintaining a direct connection with how each piece is made.
