how we make

Every garment begins with a thoughtful process.

From the yarns we choose to the people we work with, every decision shapes how a piece looks, feels and lasts. Our process is guided by craftsmanship, thoughtful materials and a commitment to making fewer, better garments.

LOCAL CRAFTSMANSHIP

Every DIARTE garment is made in Spain, in collaboration with family-run workshops located close to our Madrid studio.

Many of these partnerships have been part of our journey for over fifteen years, allowing us to work closely throughout every stage of production. This proximity helps preserve traditional craftsmanship while ensuring the quality, flexibility and attention to detail that define our collections.

For us, making locally is about more than distance. It's about trust, long-term relationships and knowing the people behind every garment.

THOUGHTFUL MATERIALS

Every collection begins with the material.

We carefully source our yarns and fabrics from trusted European suppliers, selecting fibres not only for their beauty, but for how they perform over time.

Superior Egyptian Cotton brings breathability and structure to our summer knitwear, while Extrafine Merino Wool offers exceptional softness and natural thermoregulation throughout winter. Alongside these signature fibres, we increasingly work with responsibly sourced viscose, recycled yarns and carefully balanced fibre blends, each chosen for the qualities it brings to the final garment.

For us, quality always begins at the source.

KNITWEAR EXPERTISE

Knitwear has always been at the heart of DIARTE.

Unlike woven garments, knitwear allows us to create the fabric itself, designing texture, structure and silhouette simultaneously. It is a technical discipline where creativity meets engineering.

Many of our pieces are developed using fully-fashioned and WholeGarment knitting technologies, allowing garments to be knitted directly into shape with minimal waste, improved comfort and exceptional fit.

Every stitch is considered, because lasting quality is built from the very first thread.

MADE WITH INTENTION

The way we produce is just as important as what we produce.

We work in small production runs to avoid unnecessary overproduction, prioritising quality over quantity. Around 80% of our production is powered by solar energy, and we continue to increase our use of certified fibres, responsibly sourced materials and recyclable packaging.

Rather than treating sustainability as a separate commitment, we see it as a natural consequence of thoughtful design, careful sourcing and making garments that are meant to be worn, cared for and kept.
