our philosophy

OUR STORY

Thoughtful knitwear and everyday pieces, made in Spain since 2010.

Founded in Madrid in 2010 by Ana Diarte and Jairo Berrocal, DIARTE creates pieces shaped by thoughtful design, premium materials and local craftsmanship.

Rooted in a family tradition of making, we believe clothing should be made with intention, worn with ease and kept for years to come.

OUR APPROACH

At DIARTE, every garment begins long before it is worn.

From the yarn we choose to the people we work with and the way each piece is made, every decision shapes how a garment looks, feels and lasts.

We work with carefully selected European materials, including premium Italian yarns, and produce locally in Spain with trusted family-run workshops. Our approach to sustainability has been part of the brand from the beginning: creating responsibly, producing thoughtfully and making pieces designed to be worn beyond a single season.

OUR VALUES

Quality, responsibility and longevity guide the way we work.

We focus on refined design, natural and carefully selected fibres, and craftsmanship that allows each garment to age beautifully. Rather than chasing trends or overproducing, we create considered collections made to become part of everyday life, season after season.

Today, all DIARTE garments are made in Spain, with around 80% of our production powered by solar energy.

OUR ORIGINS

DIARTE’s story began with Ana’s relationship with making.

She grew up surrounded by women in her family who embroidered, tailored, knitted and crocheted, developing an early appreciation for craftsmanship and the value of things made by hand. Those memories continue to influence the way she approaches design today.

Knitwear became a natural focus because it allows texture, structure and silhouette to be created from a single thread, combining creativity with technical precision. Ana still knits prototypes by hand and works closely with local factories throughout the design process, keeping a direct connection with what we make.
